Now, you may wonder, what is eCommerce and what is mCommerce? To put it simply, eCommerce is an umbrella term to describe shopping online with any digital device. But mCommerce, short for mobile commerce, refers to shopping online specifically with a mobile device, like a phone or tablet.

According to a survey from Clutch, here are the top four reasons why consumers would like to install an eCommerce app and use it!

  1. To receive deals and offers (68%)

  2. Flexibility to buy at any time (64%)

  3. Compare products and price (62%)

  4. Save time at the store (54%)

Furthermore, consumers also want to purchase directly through the app (84%) because of good user experience. They will receive discounts from push notifications (84%). After purchasing the products they can receive some points or loyalty rewards (81%).

Besides these points, consumers used eCommerce apps for other reasons. Some people like to buy things from the app because they don’t want to go out (47%). Sometimes, going out to the store takes a really long time to buy only one thing. Some people prefer to choose a certain time and a certain place to receive their orders (27%).(2)

Surprisingly, about 68% of consumers receive deals and offers by eCommerce apps, like 7-Eleven, Watson, Guardian, etc. Some stores provide points for consumers to earn discounts for their future purchases. 

 

Consumers want an app which is friendly to use and an entertaining experience while using apps. If you want your customers to keep coming back, try to provide some discounts, rewards and promotions.
